Maria Menounos

Maria helped her mother, who was suffering from the stage 4 brain cancer. The doctor told her that she had an extremely serious health condition. In February 2014 Menounos started experiencing troubling symptoms. In an exclusive story in PEOPLE Menounos discusses how she had been experiencing headaches and lightheadedness when she was on sets. "My speech was slurred. Also, I had difficulty reading the prompter on the teleprompter." Menounos had been diagnosed as having a meningioma-size brain tumor. A MRI confirmed the diagnosis. Menounos set an appointment consult her mom's neurosurgeon, Dr. Keith L. Black. Surgery was scheduled for June 8, Menounos 39th birthday. Dr. Black stated that the tumor was 98 percent benign. We won't have the ability to determine when they've reached that point. The complicated procedure took around seven hours and the doctor. Black was capable of eliminating 99.9 percent of the benign cancer. "He said there's a six to seven percent likelihood that we'll have it be back again," she says. But I will be willing to take this chance any time. Menounos is admitted to hospital for 6 days, is currently at home and is spending her recuperating. Maria Maria Maria
